Healing your mind

Trauma to our brains comes in many forms. Sometimes we experience abuse, other times addictions are the source, or we may sustain a physical injury like a concussion. All of these injure the brain physically, chemically, and functionally. But our brains can heal and we play a major role in that process.

Two very important ways that we can help the healing process is through social connection and exercise. These are the two main focal points of Running2bwell for that exact reason. We all feel better when we’re around friends and when we’re moving and active. Put those two together and we have a potent “treatment” for trauma, addiction, and mental health struggles.

Be connected, be active, be well!

Science backs this up in study after study. Exercise treats depression better than Zoloft, increases brain cell production, improves memory, etc. Check out our science page to read more about it.

It all boils down to these four simple truths:

  1. Connection heals

  2. Exercise heals

  3. We all have the power within us to heal by making simple lifestyle changes.

  4. It’s up to us to change though, no one else can do it for us.
